We are proud to be working with WalkSafe, the UK’s leading personal safety app, to enhance public safety and create a safer community.

Here at Genting Casinos, we want to ensure that you feel safe when visiting us. We know that travelling alone, particularly at night, can sometimes feel daunting and it’s important to us that you feel secure every step of the way. Through our partnership with WalkSafe, we aim to provide you with safety at your fingertips and provide support to anyone in a vulnerable situation.

What Is Walk Safe?

WalkSafe is a free personal safety app that helps users to feel safe when walking alone by allowing them to plan their routes using police and community-provided data, share their location with trusted friends and family and find safety-trained venues across the UK for anyone needing help if they believe they’re being followed, harassed or threatened. The app is free and available to download on the Apple and Google Play stores.

WalkSafe was founded by Emma Kay in 2020 who experienced harassment in the street and wanted to create a platform to empower people to take precautionary measures to protect their own safety. The app combines a selection of different safety features which give users information about their surroundings and take the safest journey home.

App safety features:

WalkSafe – gives you the ability to share your destination, route and estimated arrival time with trusted friends and family

HomeSafe – alerts your trusted friends and family if you fail to arrive at your destination on time

Safety Map – helps you easily find safe spaces and support

SOS – hold down the SOS button to alert your trusted friends and family immediately of your live location if you find yourself in danger

Community Reporting – issues or concerns around your community can be raised and reported anonymously to other users who may be around your local area. These can be issues including large crowds, harassment, poor lighting and following.

Each of our casinos are safe spaces meaning that if you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation, we will provide you with shelter, assistance and any support you may require, whether that be calling the police, medical assistance or a taxi to get you home safely; we’re always here to help you. On the app’s safety map, our venues are clearly highlighted with our logo and include our contact and location details so you can easily find us and any support you may need. We also have fully trained staff and various security measures in place to further provide you with a safe and positive experience and enable a safer community. Not only this but around our casinos, we have various visuals around to display our casinos are safe spaces.

Together with WalkSafe, we’re not just creating a safer space at our casinos, but contributing to a safer community for everyone. Your safety is our top priority, and we will continue to do everything in our power to protect and support you.
